Eligibility Requirements for Australia Immigration

Step: 1 Skill Assessment

The very first step for applicants is to apply a skill assessment with the relevant authority. To qualify for the next step, you must have positive results in your skill assessment. It generally takes up to 2 to 3 months to get the results of your skills assessment. However, the time varies based on skill assessment authority which will assess your education and work experience.

Step: 2 Expression of Interest

Once you have received a positive result of your skill assessment then your next step is to submit an Expression of Interest. Here, you need to submit your personal and professional details which will be reviewed by Australian Immigration authorities for further processing.

Step: 3 Invitation to Apply (ITA)

If you have been issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA), then you must submit your complete application along with supporting documents and the visa fees. You must apply for your visa within 60 days of the invitation.

The current processing time for permanent residency visa applications under the 189 subclass is +1 year.

Subclass 189 allows you to travel in and out of Australia as many times as you want for 5 years from the date you get your visa. After 5 years you will need an RRV (Resident Return Visa (subclass 155 or 157) to re-enter Australia as a permanent resident.

Skilled Nominated Visa- 190

Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa-491
