How to get the Provincial Nomination: Provincial Nominee Program is for skilled professionals who want to settle in Canada permanently in a specific province or territory. The best part for the PNP stream is, you can apply for this program with low CRS scores that can range between 340 to 400.
Each province and territory has its own PNP program and requirements. To qualify for this program you must be nominated from the chosen province or territory in the application form.
How to apply for Provincial Nomination?
There are two ways of applying for Provincial Nomination as follows:
1. Paper-based
In the paper-based application process :
- You need to meet the eligibility requirements of the province that nominates you.
- You have to apply for nomination under a non-Express Entry stream.
- Once you have been nominated by the province or territory, you’re required to submit a paper application for permanent residency to IRCC.
- You have to clear the medical exam and police clearance to get a residency in Canada.

- Paper-based application processing time is longer than the online process (Express Entry).
2. Online (through Express Entry)
In the Express Entry process there are two ways to apply for provincial nomination:
First Way:
- You can contact the province or territory directly and apply for a nomination under an Express Entry stream.
- Once you are nominated by the province and territory, you have to create an Express Entry profile and show that you have been nominated under PNP.
Second Way:
- You can create an Express Entry profile and mention the provinces and territories you’re interested in.
- If a province or territory sends you a “notification of interest” to your Express Entry account, you contact them directly.
- You apply to province and territory Express Entry stream.
These are the ways by following which you can apply for Provincial Nomination. In both ways (Paper & Online) you have to create an Express Entry profile and submit your application as suggested by IRCC.
